About Eric Reverence
Eric was born on 9th July 1978, in Accra (Ghana), married to a beautiful and wonderful wife and has a daughter and a son. He is the oldest son of 7 siblings and currently lives in London, UK. As a youngster Eric was raised within a Christian family, attending a Methodist Church in Brixton, London. But it was only at the age of 14 that Eric made a personal commitment to the faith whilst attending a Faith conference in Peterborough, UK. He then attended several churches where he found himself singing in praise and worship teams and also leading times of worship himself. Eric attends and worship at Life City Church in Croydon.
Eric’s ear for music came very young. He would often have melodies come to mind and constantly record them. Soon the skills of writing and composing these melodies into complete songs followed as his passion for songs of worship drew him into a more intimate relationship with God. As Eric describes it ‘I was taken to a deeper level in my walk with the Lord and could just be alone in my room talking with God for hours. Worship helped me connect with God.’
Initially, afraid to take up the call as worship minister which he knew laid heavily on his life, Eric subsequently found himself joining other worship groups in hope of a break through. However, he was faced with the constant struggle of never feeling at peace and assured that this was the place that God wanted him to be, despite the various groups’ successes. But small steps towards break through finally came as Eric began singing his own songs during times of worship. He started to take seriously comments made by members of the congregation who would share with him how touched their lives were by his songs.
Eric had to stay true to the style and lyrical content of songs the Lord had placed in his heart, despite the popularity of other styles of songs.
It was in July 2009 that his break through finally came. During a worship meeting Eric experienced a profound revelation from God with the words ‘this is the time to move and act on your calling.’ At first Eric was so startled by these words that he was unable to concentrate for the rest of the meeting. On arrival home that night, before he could even share this experience with his wife, she said ‘Eric, God has just told me it is time for you to act on my calling.’ With no more hesitations Eric took hold of the call on his life and formed the worship ministry 'Reverence' in ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬August 2009, meaning to honour, worship and adore God.
Eric first single ‘I Give You My All’, has touched many lives and is currently being heard on UCB Radio. He has also appeared on a number of television and radio stations including UCB TV, Premier Radio, Believe TV and Ukentv. Eric achievements within three years an artist has open great doors for him including a semi-finalists in the UK Gospel Competition appeared as special guest artist on televised events including Just Out Of This World Final. He has ministered in various cities and towns around the UK and overseas including, Pentecost Festival, Camden Festival, Sommerset Conference and Gospel Corner at Notting Hill Carnival. His rise to success has also seen him being invited to minister at international events/conferences in Ghana and Holland.
Eric is well known for writing and composing simple and easy to learn contemporary praise and worship songs and these songs has been a hit at every event he has ministered. His vision and aim of ministering to all multi-national organisations has also lead him to write songs to meet all event needs including rock, gospel, techno and reggae. Eric is currently working on his album and is hoping to release a single and a video very soon.
